PLD TO HAVE 105 DIPUTIES; PRD 75 AND PRSC 3

SANTO DOMINGO. The congressional and municipal representation by deputies and city council members will be mostly in the hands of the Dominican Liberation Party, but with a close counterweight of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD).

According to information offered yesterday by the Administrative Chamber of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), the PLD will have 102 deputies, 3 national deputies and 10 representatives for the Central American Parliament (Parlacen). At the municipal level they will have 573 city council members, 140 directors of Municipal Districts and 370 members.

Meanwhile, the PRD came up with 73 deputies, 2 national deputies, and 9 representatives in the Parlacen. On the local level they will have 520 city council members, 87 municipal district directors and 317 members.

For the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC), there will be 3 deputies (19 less than the current number) and one representative in Parlacen. At the municipal level they will have 31 city council members, two municipal district director and 14 members.

The small parties
The minor parties will have no membership in the Congress, managing to occupy only posts at the municipal level.

The Christian Democratic Union (UDC) will have 13 city council members; the Popular Christian Party (PPC) with have 2 city council members; Miuca-Action for the Change, 2 city council members, the Social Democrat Revolutionary Party (PRSD), 3 council members, the Independent Revolutionary Party (PRI) on city council member, the Institutional Democratic Party (PDI), 2 council members, the Dominican for the Change Party (D x C), one city council member, and the Independent Movement Unity and Progress(MIUP) one city council member.

In the Municipal Districts, these political organizations did not obtain a single director, but they did obtain representation as members of the town council: UCE 2 members, Miuca-Action for the Change, 3 members; ASD one member; PRSC 5 members, PRI, PDI and D x C one member each.

The head of the Administrative Chamber of the JCE, Roberto Rosario, said that shortly they will begin to publish the partial bulletins with th3 details by candidate for these posts.

Only a little more
The head of the Administrative Chamber, Roberto Rosario, reported that as of yesterday they had computed 99.5% of the polls at the municipal level and 99.8% of the polls at the congressional level.

The preliminary data indicates that they have counted 3,439,002 votes, for an overall percentage of 56.23%, and they are projecting a 58% vote in this election process," one of the highest in Latin America for this type of election". This will suppose an abstention rate of 42%.
